A tutored morning is held every Friday in term-time in the church hall from 10.00 to 12.30.
Some experience in painting and drawing is useful as we tend to assume the ‘basics’.
We follow a prepared selection of subject matter with a range of materials. Often a morning begins
with a demonstration and brief talk, with opportunity for questions. We meet in a large, well-lit hall
to a background of music as we paint. Refreshments are available throughout the morning.
Sometimes we put up a ‘show-and-tell’ of work at the end of the session for encouragement or
advice.
Fees are currently £80 for a term of around 13 weeks, or newcomers can pay £10 per session for the
first term or part-term. Members bring their own equipment and materials.
The club has a strong tradition of welcoming newcomers and socialising generally. Membership is
high and there can be no guarantee of space available.
