15th – 17th September 2017
Yes, we realise this is rather advanced planning! Do add the date in your diary and we will bring you details of how to book mid-way through 2016.
You are warmly invited to join us for the Bessels Green Baptist Church Family Weekend Away at Ashburnham Place on the 15th-17th September 2017.
Where Are We Going?
We will be staying at Ashburnham Place near Battle, in Kent (www.ashburnham.org.uk). Set in 220 acres of stunning grounds, Ashburnham Place is the perfect place to get away from the busyness of life and enjoy relaxed fellowship as a church family. With woodland walks, three lakes, a prayer garden and a beautiful historical building, the site is a haven of peace and tranquillity.
What Will We Be Doing?
The weekend is a chance for us to grow, play and learn together as a church family. The mornings will have a focus on worship, bible teaching and prayer. We will have an exciting speaker, Roy Searle of the Northumbria Community, to lead the mornings sessions. The afternoons will be an opportunity for you to relax together with family and friends. The beautiful countryside of Ashburnham Place will provide the perfect setting for a number of sporting activities, and the local area of Battle and Hastings are perfect to explore should you wish to venture off-site.
On the Saturday evening we will be hosting our very own ‘Variety Show’, followed by a family campfire (complete with marshmallow toasting!).
Throughout the whole weekend there will be activities organised for the under 17’s. During the mornings this will be led by the Arise Children’s Team and our very own Josh Amott. In the afternoons there will be a number of family activities on offer so that you can enjoy time away with your own family as well as the church family.
Why Should I Come?
In a word, ‘relationships’. Strong churches are built on strong relationships and there is no better way to get to know one another better than to get away and spend a weekend together. Please don’t miss this opportunity to be strengthened as part of the BGBC family as we grow, learn and play together.
What Is Included?
The cost of the weekend includes your accommodation (either ensuite rooms, or bedrooms with access to shared bathrooms) and full board meals:
Friday evening – buffet upon arrival
Saturday – breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner
Sunday – breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea
Please note we can also request an early children’s dinner time if enough people should wish.
How Do I Book My Place?
To book your place, please complete the booking form, and return it with your deposit cheque, to Nick Hillman ASAP!
We want this weekend to be accessible to everyone in the BGBC family and therefore we have produced several payment options. Please don’t let cost stand in the way of coming – we would like you to choose the payment option most suitable to your needs and if you would like to know about the bursaries we have available do have a chat to Charlie Ingram in complete confidence.
We realise that some people may have other commitments over the weekend and so may not be able to book for the whole weekend. We would be delighted if you would like to join us for just one of the days (either Saturday or Sunday). If you would like to do that, please speak to Nick Hillman at BGBC.
