It is our hope and desire that
Bessels Green Baptist Church should be known as a caring community, we seek to be intentional in our care for one another.

We want to ensure that everyone who attends BGBC is supported and able to fulfill their potential before God.

However, we are human and don’t always get it right. We hope you will work with us to achieve our desire and fulfill our potential.

If you would like someone to visit you for prayer, or to chat, please ask.

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35

SUNDAY AND WEDNESDAY WORSHIP

We believe that worship should be pastoral; when we meet with God we should expect him to minister to us by his Holy Spirit.

Opportunities for prayer and ministry are offered at all of our services.

Tea and coffee after the morning service is an ideal opportunity to catch up with friends, old and new, and care for one another.

The ministerial team are available to chat or pray with you, if you would like spiritual direction, would like to talk though a situation, or have questions about Christianity. Please ring Charlie (pictured) at the church office to make an appointment.

Home communion is available on request.

SMALL GROUPS

Small groups are one of the primary ways we at BGBC seek to support and care for one another. Why not join a small group?

Small groups meet together to read the bible, pray, share and support one another.

Your small group leaders are available for prayer or just a chat.

MINISTRY TO SENIORS

We are fortunate at BGBC to have a thriving ministry to seniors based around the Wednesday lunch club.

The team regularly visit their members and those who are house bound.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM

Meeting several times a year, the Pastoral Care Team are volunteers from among the congregation who give their time to caring for others.

If you would like someone to visit, pray with you, or just chat, please contact our Deacon for Pastoral Care & Seniors, or fill in one of our new BGBC Pastoral Care cards found here or on our Pastoral Care notice-board in the foyer.  Please complete the card and either place it in the offering bag at BGBC on a Sunday, or return it to us by post/email.  We will get back to you as soon as possible.

WHY CARE?

Theology at Bessels Green Baptist ChurchFor Christians pastoral care is a response to God’s love as seen in Jesus. We believe that love is the essential quality of God.
(1 John 4:10)

Pastoral care is a response to the image of God in the other person. There is something of God in each of us, and in every human relationship there is the potential for a meeting with God.
(Matthew 25:31-46)

Pastoral care is a calling to go beyond natural inclinations – care for family, friends and those we immediately identify with.
 (Luke 6:32-36)

Pastoral care was at the heart of Jesus’ ministry. He was compassionate. He went out of his way to care for children, women, men, the sick, the outcast… We, who are the Body of Christ, are called to continue the ministry of Jesus.
