On Sunday 5th June, following the Morning Service, the congregation gathered outside, in front of the
chapel, to see Oliver Brooke (our longest serving member) plant a lovely magnolia tree.
It was a fitting way to mark the occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and came in response to
her Majesty’s own wishes for her Jubilee year, creating a legacy for the benefit of future
generations: The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark
Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom
to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.” https://queensgreencanopy.org
Thank you to everyone who was involved in this initiative!
