Our next series of sermons, over Christmas and into 2020, will be looking at planet Earth, our home.

In my recent blog ‘Earthrise at Christmas’ we see an image of Earth as a fragile blue dot hanging in the darkness. This image is a photo called ‘Earthrise’ taken by William Anders when on board Apollo 8 on December 24 1968.  Reflecting on his photo from the higher perspective of space Anders said “We set out to explore the moon and instead discovered the Earth”. In a world that feels as divided as at any time in history, it can be useful to try and see a ‘higher’ perspective.

We are all linked together on this beautiful planet that God has given us, and we are all its stewards.  Looking after Earth is more important than our individual differences – now more than ever.
